Boston Bombing Survivor Who Lost A Leg Dances Across The Finish Line

Yesterday, Adrianne Haslet-Davis, who lost her leg in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, finally crossed over that fated finish line, completing the journey she began two years ago.

Staged for a television commercial shoot, Haslet-Davis and a partner danced over the finish line, a moment the survivor says “helped her feel whole” again.

As a professional ballroom dancer, Haslet-Davis' biggest concern when she lost her leg was that she'd never be able to dance again.

Fortunately, she was fitted with a prosthetic, and although recovery hasn't been easy, she's been committed to one day returning to the dance floor.

Haslet-Davis wrote on her website,

I refuse to be called a victim. I am not defined by what happened in my life. I am a survivor, defined by how I live my life.

Watch the inspiring woman complete the marathon in her own, powerfully symbolic way in the moving clip up top.
