Black Man And White Woman Speak For Each Other In Powerful Poem (Video)

by Eitan Levine

A black man and a white woman speaking about their struggles in this incredibly powerful shared poem will bring you close to tears.

Button Poetry is an organization devoted to sharing and promoting the art of performance poetry.

But, its videos are not of yuppies gathered in a coffee shop, drumming while yelling corny slam poetry lyrics at each other.

Instead, the organization promotes people expressing the pain they've suffered through a very emotional medium.

In the past, it had several viral hits with videos like "OCD," "To JK Rowling, from Cho Chang" and "Explaining My Depression to My Mother."

This new shared poem is called "Lost Voices," and it's performed by Darius Simpson and Scout Bostley.

It features the two telling each other's life story and how they processed the prejudices and stereotypes they each face.
