Pearl Moen has a passion for murder, and her diary entries prove it.

In November 2015, the girl -- who was 17 years old at the time -- tried to kill an innocent woman in Austin, Texas, before privately writing about her supposed victory.

After hopping out of the bushes and stabbing a nurse who was lying on a blanket in Hyde Park 21 times, Moen bragged about the attack and wrote,

I stabbed an innocent woman to death earlier today (well yesterday since it's 1 a.m.) ... It was absolutely fantastic. Murder gives me a high unlike any other. It feels like this crisp unreality, flashing and sparkling, adrenaline and shock, fight or flight mode.

According to DailyMail.com, Moen was smiling as she continuously stabbed the innocent woman.

She wasn't done with her diary entry yet, though.

She continued,

I'm so proud of myself. I stabbed her like 20 times. Maybe more. I wasn't counting. She screamed and grabbed at me, saying, 'What the (expletive)?! Help. Leave.

It's been reported by PEOPLE the victim was able to save herself from the wounds because of her medical training.

However, Moen was able to go free for months while authorities searched for her.

Ironically, Moen's mother was the one who turned her daughter in after realizing the woman on fliers dispersed around town looked similar to Moen. She allegedly called the police on February 14, 2015, and notified them of the resemblance.

More evidence emerged when her mother showed authorities the harrowing passages in her daughter's diary. She also admitted her daughter threatened her with a knife, according to Austin-American Statesman.

She was sentenced on Friday to 15 years in jail by the the Travis County District Attorney's Office.

Her victim, who miraculously survived the vicious attack, suffered a collapsed lung, as well as nerve and tendon damage that needed a five-hour surgery to fix.

During Moan's sentencing, her victim spoke to her and said she was "glad the defendant stabbed [me] rather than a child, an elderly person or someone who could not defend themselves."

Either way, Moan's passion for the attack is especially haunting.

The nurse said,

I always thought she would walk around with guilt, but knowing she had this joy and this pride is very unsettling.

It's unsettling indeed.
