Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

An Arizona woman has been taken into custody by police after the woman allegedly shot her sleeping boyfriend in the penis because she thought he was cheating on her.

Police were summoned to the couple's Scottsdale home around 8:30 pm on Saturday evening.

Upon arriving at the residence, a 53-year-old woman, Delia Mary Flores, greeted cops outside of the home.

The woman initially claimed that she did not know what happened to her boyfriend, who was inside the house.

Flores' boyfriend told police that he had been sleeping in a chair when he was suddenly awoken by a loud noise that he thought was fireworks.

However, it turns out that the man had actually been shot — seven times to be exact.

According to police reports, the man had two gunshot wounds in his neck, one in his back, one bullet wound in his penis and two in his scrotum.

Flores' boyfriend was rushed to a nearby hospital and treated for life-threatening injuries.

Upon searching the couple's home, police discovered a .32 caliber handgun and several shell casing.

Cops also uncovered ammunition and a box for the gun hidden in a "Victoria's Secret" bag that was stashed in the woman's closet along with a receipt that showed Flores purchased the items on February 16.

After being questioned by investigators, police report that Flores later confessed to shooting her boyfriend in the penis because she thought that he was having an affair behind her back.

Flores' boyfriend denied the cheating allegations and allegedly told police that he had absolutely no idea why his girlfriend opened fire on him as he slept in the home.

Flores currently being held on $750,000 bond.

The woman could now be facing charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault as a result of the incident.
