This Woman Was Rushed To The Hospital With A Shark Attached To Her Arm

Tumblr user silvermoon424 once described the coast by writing,

THE OCEAN IS A PRIMEVAL HELLSCAPE NIGHTMARE AND WE ALL JUST DIP OUR STUPID FRAGILE UNPROTECTED FETUS BODIES AROUND THE EDGES OF IT LIKE THAT'S NORMAL. F*CK THE OCEAN.

One might argue this fear and respect can be afforded to all large bodies of water, as the mysteries therein are terrors we will hopefully never have to face as soft, weak flesh bags.

During a Boca Raton beach trip, though, one 23-year-old woman was not as lucky as the rest of us.

While swimming in Red Reef Park, the victim was bit by a small nurse shark and, upon walking ashore, still had the water monster dangling from her arm. DANGLING. FROM. HER. ARM.

The 2-foot shark was reportedly killed before first responders arrived on the scene, but it remained latched to the victim all the way to the emergency room. Conservationist/shark expert/sea monster sympathizer Jim Abernethy told WPTV News,

I would say, close to 100 percent of these so called attacks are actually a case where someone is messing with the shark because it's so docile. I mean, it just lays on the bottom, usually underneath the ledge.

Honestly, learning I have the same hobbies as a nurse shark is making it difficult to stay angry at the little guy who gave his life for a taste of 20-something flesh.
