Woman Says Her Cousin Set Fire To Her House Because He Couldn't Date Her

by Madeline Concannon

Last week, a fire broke out around 3:45 am in Leavittsburg, Ohio at the home of Heather Tenney.

When Tenney was interviewed by the local news station, she told the reporter,

I woke up [to] beating on the door. My neighbors, I opened up the door, my neighbers were like, 'Get out, get out.' You know. I opened the door and seen this blazing from the garage. And I woke him up, my husband, and we got out as fast as we could.

Tenney alleged the fire was started by her cousin, and while she didn't “want to mention no names,” she claimed,

He's mad because he can't get with me. I'm married.

Just to clarify: She's not turned off by the fact that he's her cousin; she's turned off because she's already married.

Apparently, this love triangle escalated before.

She explained to the reporter,

I'm married to my husband. It's a long story, just to make it short. He (her husband) already put him in the hospital once last month. And he figured he's gonna do something else to get back.

Trumbull County Fire Investigation Unit Chief Matt Balut labeled the fire "suspicious," and the police started investigating whether or not Tenney's cousin, or anyone else, started it.
