Woman Falls Overboard At The Mad Decent Boat Party In The Gulf Of Mexico

A Mad Decent Boat Party cruise ship traveling to Cozumel, Mexico departed from Miami, Florida on Thursday, and according to TMZ, a woman went overboard around 7 pm that day.

The ship, hosting EDM fan-favorites Skrillex, Diplo, Major Lazer and G-Eazy, is said to have lost the woman somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico.

The US Coast Guard reported at around 5 pm PST, the cruise ship was 22 miles off the coast of Cuba. In addition to the Coast Guard, several boats and an airplane are searching for the missing woman.

Authorities are also reviewing footage from the incident, and according to TMZ, the cause of the woman's fall is unclear.

One passenger on the ship has been live-tweeting updates since the time of the incident and even provided a photo of a rescue boat heading out into the dark waters.

The cruise ship, originally scheduled to dock in Cozumel, Mexico, has canceled its destination and will return to Miami, Florida at the scheduled end of the trip.

No update on the whereabouts of the unidentified woman has been made.

The missing woman has been identified by the US Coast Guard as Kaylyn Rose Sommer, 24, from Charleston, South Carolina.

The search continues.
