Donald Trump's Son Made A Holocaust Joke And The Internet Was NOT Having It

Donald Trump Jr. just made a Holocaust joke, and people are not happy about it.

When your father is running for president, you should probably stay away from making light of the systematic mass killing of millions of people by Nazi Germany during World War II. Just a thought.

During an interview with Chris Stigall on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, Donald Trump Jr. argued there was a major double standard in the way the media covers Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

Trump Jr. said,

The media has been her number one surrogate in this. Without the media, this wouldn't even be a contest, but the media has built her up. They've let her slide on every in-discrepancy, on every lie, on every DNC game trying to get Bernie Sanders out of this thing. If Republicans were doing that, they'd be warming up the gas chamber right now.

In case you missed it, Trump Jr.'s "gas chamber" remark alludes to the Holocaust.

During the Holocaust, Nazi Germany used gas chambers to kill six million Jews, among other groups. The corpses of those killed with the poison gas were often cremated in ovens.

So it seems Trump Jr. got his history mixed up in his dark and highly inappropriate joke, as the Nazis didn't "warm up" gas chambers.

The Anti-Defamation League, an organization dedicated to combatting antisemitism, condemned Trump Jr.'s remarks in a tweet.

The outrage was extensive.

Trump Jr. said he was not referencing the Holocaust.

But, it seems unlikely people will buy his explanation.

Moral of the story: Never, ever make Holocaust jokes. It's always wrong.
