Woman Listens To Late Son's Heart Beating In 4-Year-Old Girl

The heart of a deceased infant beats in the body of a young life he saved with a miraculous donation.

Heather Clark's 7-month-old son Lukas died after being abused by the boyfriend of his babysitter in June 2013.

Shortly after the death, Clark made the decision to donate Lukas' organs.

She told FOX 10,

There is another family out there, somewhere, you know who's feeling something of what I'm feeling, somewhat, and I have the chance to make them not go through what I'm about to go through.

The boy's organs would go on to save three lives, including that of now 4-year-old Jordan Drake.

Drake had a congenital heart defect that, not too long ago, had her on the verge of death.

But on June 22, 2013, she was given Lukas' heart and now appears to be in good health.

Of Clark, Drake's mother, Esther Gonzalez, said,

It's hard to describe… that she would be so selfless to be able to think of another family while she's going through her grief.

Over the weekend, Clark put a stethoscope to Drake's chest and heard her son's heartbeat for the first time in three years.

The two mothers are now friends who say they will continue to see each other.

Clark was given a teddy bear that plays audio of Lukas' heartbeat so she can always be reminded of her son.
