The heart of a deceased infant beats in the body of a young life he saved with a miraculous donation.
Heather Clark's 7-month-old son Lukas died after being abused by the boyfriend of his babysitter in June 2013.
Shortly after the death, Clark made the decision to donate Lukas' organs.
She told FOX 10,
The boy's organs would go on to save three lives, including that of now 4-year-old Jordan Drake.
Drake had a congenital heart defect that, not too long ago, had her on the verge of death.
But on June 22, 2013, she was given Lukas' heart and now appears to be in good health.
Of Clark, Drake's mother, Esther Gonzalez, said,
Over the weekend, Clark put a stethoscope to Drake's chest and heard her son's heartbeat for the first time in three years.
The two mothers are now friends who say they will continue to see each other.
Clark was given a teddy bear that plays audio of Lukas' heartbeat so she can always be reminded of her son.
