Man Gets Hit By Bus Moments After Escaping Car Hanging From A Cliff

A man was able to escape his car as it hung off a cliff, only to be hit by a bus almost immediately afterward.

The unidentified adult was driving his SUV on California's Malibu Canyon Road when he lost control of the vehicle and nearly drove over an embankment around 4:30 pm on April 2, according to the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station's Facebook post.

A photo provided by the sheriff's department shows the vehicle dangling over a concrete barrier, appearing as if it was about to tilt forward and fall at any moment.

The man apparently exited his car unharmed, but he was so disoriented he stumbled into oncoming traffic, where he was hit by a passing tour bus, Reuters reports.

The Facebook post from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station says the man was “conscious and breathing on [police's] arrival and was treated by the fast response of [the station's] partners at the Los Angeles County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol.”

He was taken to a local hospital, but his current condition remains unknown. An investigation of the accident is being conducted by the California Highway Patrol.
