The Delta Upsilon fraternity at the University of Missouri-Columbia is being accused of teaching new members to use date rape drugs.

Apparently, older members of the frat gave each pledge three pills and told them to use the pills on women in order to then have sex with them. (This is also known as, you know, drugging and raping women.)

The university Office for Civil Rights & Title IX – which investigates issues of discrimination, including sexual assault – and the Student Conduct offices are investigating the frat, Fox 2 reports.

Ellen Eardley, assistant vice chancellor of the Office for Civil Rights & Title IX, wrote in a letter to the frat,

Active members of Delta Upsilon fraternity allegedly provided each new member with three pills, and instructed them to drug women for the purpose of incapacitating them prior to engaging in sexual activity. It has been alleged that new members are required to engage in such conduct in order to complete the initiation process.

There are reports of women who believe they were drugged at the fraternity, which was suspended last month following allegations that brothers used racial slurs.

The frat is denying the allegations of date rape usage. Justin Kirk, executive director of the national Delta Upsilon organization, acknowledged that the Mizzou frat is under two investigations, but said that neither of them were for drugs.

There's one Title IX investigation about the racial incident, and one Student Conduct investigation about alcohol violations.

The frat said in a statement,

The allegations that fraternity associate members received pills to be used to incapacitate and rape women were rumors found to be unsubstantiated by the university. No formal charges were filed against the chapter. Such rumors are disgusting and egregious.

A university spokesman said he could not comment on the allegations, which is typical for college cases.
