Awesome news for all you pizza blotters out there: Your habit may be stopping you from gaining two pounds a year.

Labdoor magazine conducted a study to figure out how much fat and how many calories you save by greasing up your napkin before biting into a slice of pepperoni pizza.

As it turns out, it's a lot. A typical slice of pepperoni pizza has 324 calories in it, and 117 of those calories are from fat.

When you blot your pizza, you're saving yourself over 40 calories per slice.

For the average American who eats a whopping 23 pounds of pizza per year, blotting saves you two pounds every year. Go you!
