On Tuesday, news surfaced that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are divorcing and the earth literally began to shatter.
Around the same time people began finding out Brangelina was coming to a heartbreaking end, there was an actual 3.2 magnitude earthquake not far from Gardena, California.
This split is so devastating, it seems even Mother Nature is shook up about it.
Okay, in reality, we can't actually blame this break up for the earthquake.
According to the US Geological Survey, earthquakes are caused when two blocks of the earth suddenly slip past one another, not when a universally beloved celebrity couple call it quits.
But all of this is definitely very coincidental.
CNN officially confirmed the earthquake and breakup were not connected. Glad we cleared that up.
CNN has confirmed #Brangelina divorce and the small earthquake felt near Los Angeles this morning are unrelated https://t.co/FhQRTsDwy3 — Brian Ries (@moneyries) September 20, 2016
But some people clearly aren't convinced these two occurrences are totally unrelated.
We're going to get through this, you guys.
We just need to buy a lot of ice cream, go home and cry our eyes out while watching "Mr. & Mrs. Smith." That's clearly the only solid option we have left during these trying times.
