A Birmingham woman is currently on trial for attempted murder after she tried to remove her ex-husband's intestines post-sex.

35-year-old Dalya Saeed allegedly whipped out a large carving knife and stabbed her ex-husband, 31-year-old Bilal Miah, so deep, his intestines began to emerge from his wound, according to Metro.co.uk.

She then proceeded to rip part of it off before assaulting him in the head with a pepper grinder.

The attack continued in the street as she chased after him with a meat cleaver and baseball bat before nearby neighbors heard Miah's plea for help.

Back in October 2015, on the night of the attack, Saeed met up with Miah, who has since remarried after his 2013 divorce from Saeed, to discuss custody issues involving their daughter.

Before their discussion even began, however, the two started having sex as soon as Miah arrived at Saeed's home in Moseley, Birmingham.

Miah claims their long sex session was consensual, while Saeed has accused her ex of raping her and is claiming the aggressive attack was self-defense.

“Suddenly in the blink of an eye, and I didn't see the knife, she stabbed me twice in the belly,” Miah told the jury during trial.

“My intestines were out, everything was out and she was grabbing hold of them, trying to pull them,” he added. “She broke one of them and threw it onto the floor but I managed to put the rest of them back in my belly.”

Following the attack, Miah was transported to the hospital, where he spent 10 days recovering from "life threatening" abdomen injuries (30 wounds to be exact), according to his lawyer Adam Western.

"The violence used by Dalya Saeed was without justification," Western added. "Her intention was nothing less than to kill him."

The trial is currently ongoing, and Miah also revealed to the jury during cross-examination that he'd been both physically and verbally abusive toward Saeed during certain periods in their marriage.

Saeed has continued to push her claim of self-defense, and she maintains her innocence.
