Young Money Hoax: Nobody Was Shot Inside Lil Wayne's Home Today

by Adam Pliskin

The Miami Beach Police Department received a call earlier today claiming four people were shot in Lil Wayne's Miami home.

The call generated a great deal of distress in the area as the SWAT team was called and people were concerned about Lil Wayne's well-being.

Lil Wayne's record label assuaged everyone's concerns by tweeting he was alive and well.

Wayne is okay. Wasn't home during alleged events. — Young Money (@YoungMoneySite) March 11, 2015

But, as it turns out, the call was a hoax. The SWAT team entered the home didn't find any victims or signs of a violent incident.

The police department tweeted:

#UPDATE unfortunately this appears to be a "Swatting" call. No victims /no injuries /no subject at 94 LaGorce. — Miami Beach Police (@MiamiBeachPD) March 11, 2015
MBPD handles all calls of this nature in a serious manner . In this case it appears to have be a hoax @ #LiLWaynes home . #Swatting — Miami Beach Police (@MiamiBeachPD) March 11, 2015

The person who made the call is still at large. We will keep you updated as more information comes to light.
