The 10 Harsh Truths You Need To Realize To Become Successful

by Robert Anthony

The road to success is never an easy one. There are obstacles you must pass, lessons you must learn and times you must fail on the way to achieving your goals.

If you aren’t ready to handle this, then clearly you are not cut out to live this life. Remember, this is survival of the fittest. If you don’t go out and get it now, someone else will take it from you.

Aspire, believe and succeed. These are the 10 Harsh Truths You Need To Realize To Become Successful.

10. No one cares about you.

Everyone has their own problems, so why would they care about yours? Instead of asking a question, come up with the solution. You shouldn't have anyone telling you how to do your job. Figure it out on your own even if that means innovating the way you do things. No once cares about you until you've made it.

9. Not all friends make good business partners.

Just because you are good friends with a person, doesn't mean you can work together. Surround yourself with great people. If someone is holding you back then you have to cut them off ASAP. You need people you can trust to get a task done without having to micromanage them. Let them be the ones to figure it out. Be efficient.

8. You can't always play by the rules.

Nice guys finish last. Don't look for shortcuts, but find out how to produce more by doing less. Even if that means playing dirty, you must do whatever it takes to get where you need to be. Any successful person can tell you that they didn't exactly follow the syllabus when it came to making it happen. Do whatever it takes.

7. Just because you have a golden idea doesn't mean people will invest in you.

While it's always important to believe in your ideas, don't just assume that everyone else is going to love it too. Humble yourself and act as if the odds are against you (which they are probably are). Be as lean and bootstrapped in the beginning as possible. Try to go as far as you can without anybody else’s help first. Make them need you more than you need them.

6. College doesn't always help.

While college can surely be an enriching experience, don't let it hold you back from accomplishing what you know you can achieve. Go out and build something. Stop wasting time and make it happen now. It's totally okay to drop out of college if you have an awesome idea, especially in this age of technology. Stop waiting and start building your empire today.

5. It's never going to happen when you want it.

Don't expect to be an overnight success. You have to work tirelessly and keep reinventing yourself on the way. If you feel like it's finally your time, cut it out. There is so much more you must accomplish before you even get to the next step. Keep this mindset and you will reach your goal when you least expect it.

4. If you're not doing what you love, you will never become successful.

You can work as hard as you want on something, but if the passion isn't there, the product will never be either. Do whatever it is that makes you happy and don't ever stop. As long as you do what you love you will be always be satisfied. It's as simple as that.

3. Don't do it for the money.

Never make money your end goal. If you are doing this to get rich, you will never be happy. You must learn that building things and creating value is what's really important. Enjoy the process when you both succeed and fail. Remember, value first and then get the money afterwards. Monetizing value is easy; it’s a matter of building that value first.

2. Be prepared to fail... over and over again.

Failing is the most important part of becoming successful. If you can't handle the small bumps in the road, then you surely will never be able to handle the much larger problems that success brings. In fact, you should be prepared to fail at least several times. The true measure of your greatness is how you deal with this adversity and recover from it. Failure means not trying; failure isn’t the outcome.

1. Never look back.

You can make mistakes, but never look back at them. Don't dwell on your failures. Instead, put that energy into another project. Keep moving forward and always strive for success. Create something, sell it, make it better, sell it some more and then create something that makes what you used to make obsolete.
