Dads Dressing As Princesses In Public Are Fatherhood Goals

There is nothing sweeter than a dad who is willing to do something special for his daughter — especially if he looks ridiculous while doing it in public.

That's exactly what this father did for his adorable daughter when they went to Disney dressed as mermaids together.

Obviously, she is Princess Ariel and he is King Triton.

Good job, mermaid dad.

I can't get over how shiny his mermaid tail is. And those gold wrist cuffs! So. Cute.

The photo was posted to Reddit on Saturday by someone who spotted the pair at the park and has received a flood of comments, praising the dad for doing such an adorable, selfless thing for his kid.

Some Redditors had suggestions of how this dad could use this photo to his advantage once his little princess grows up:

I would use this pic so when she grows up and becomes a rebel teen giving me attitude i would be like.... Remember the time i fucking dressed like a mermaid for you.

And for some, this photo and the comments it inspired hit home a little too hard:

Nope. Dads think all day and night about what will make their daughters happy, and then they try their best to make it happen, some how, some way, and they're devastated when they can't. This guy got those outfits and came up with the idea of wearing it for one reason, and one reason only - he wanted to see his little girl's eyes light up. Case in point. Years ago Leon Russell was playing a gig here in town, and I really wanted to go. However, the Jonas Brothers were playing the same night. Guess which show we went to? And I enjoyed the hell out of it. They are actually solid musicians, but you know what made the night? The look on my little girl's face. Nothing else matters to a Dad, ever. Don't kid yourself about that. You are the only thing he thinks about day in and day out.

To which another Redditor responded,

As a person who's dad wasn't always there, this made me cry.

There definitely is something special here that warrants a deeper reaction than, "Aw, cute," because the dad totally put himself out there just to make his daughter's day.

Of course, Redditors won't pass up any opportunities to make Disney character jokes. One user commented:

King Triton really let himself go.

Some speculated that the daughter had nothing to do with his mermaid costume.

It was actually his idea, and he is so excited to get to the teacups she can hardly keep up.

Other awesome dads posted stories with times they have done something similar for their daughters, but this one takes the cake.

I went to Disney's Not So Scary Halloween at Disney World with my daughter last night. She wanted us to all go as princesses, so not to disappoint I went as the fattest and ugliest Cinderella you have ever seen. I had a blast.

The photo is priceless.

We love it. Look how happy that little girl is!

With Halloween around the corner, maybe this will inspire some dads to put on a princess outfit instead of whatever they'd normally wear as a costume.

Let's also not forget this London dad that dressed up as a princess from "Frozen" with his daughter who was dressed as Olaf.

Fake boobs and all. Amazing.

These dads are dedicated. They're #parentinggoals because they're obviously willing to go the extra mile and put themselves out there to put a smile on their daughter's faces.
