You've Been Pronouncing These Fashion Brands Wrong Your Whole Life

Elite Daily

Remember when we showed you how to pronounce all of those city names you'd probably been saying incorrectly your entire life?

Well, this got us thinking about all of the other things that are commonly mispronounced, and the first thing that came to mind was the world of high fashion.

Seriously, there is nothing chic about mispronouncing the biggest names in the style scene.

Aside from rocking a hideous pair of Crocs or a frumpy sweater vest, one of the fastest ways to get yourself labeled as a fashion-ignorant fool is to mispronounce the name of the designer you are wearing.

In fact, when it comes to boasting your knowledge of the latest haute couture and runway trends, rattling off a few butchered designer names is probably the biggest, not to mention most embarrassing, fashion faux pas you can commit.

But, let's face it, the spelling of names can be pretty deceptive, especially if the label is in a foreign language. Often, getting those designer names to roll off the tongue just right can be a daunting task.

Luckily, your days of butchering brand names can finally come to an end.

Harper's Bazaar rounded up all of the biggest names in fashion and paired them with their proper pronunciations.

Now, you won't have to avoid designer names by saying you can't remember who made your gorgeous new Givenchy bag every time your friends ask. It's a zjee-vohn-shee bag, duh!

Take a look at the pictures below to see the proper pronunciations of your favorite fashion brands.
