Dogs are awesome, and if you've ever had a chance to own one, you'll agree.
Let's face it -- they're the furriest, friendliest creatures on four legs. How could you not want to be accompanied by a real-life teddy bear all day?
Well, they're only teddy bears until you get them wet -- then they completely turn into another animal. If you've ever washed your dog or been stuck in a torrential downpour while on a walk, you know what we're talking about!
In a recent photo series put together by photographer Serena Hodson called Dry Dog Wet Dog, we're introduced to 12 furry best friends in a collection of before-and-after shots.
The before photo captures the dogs in their normal, dry state. The after photo shows what they look like doused in water. The results? We can't help but smile!
Check out the photos below for a closer look.
If you've ever had a chance to wash your dog, you know the end result is quite a spectacle:
These furry little friends usually end up looking nothing like themselves:

The before side showcases each pup in its normal, dry state:
The after side is them drenched in water:
We can only image how many times they tried to shake it off:
Hodson worked closely with different dog breeds, from Chow Chows...
...to Shih Tzus:
Each dog had a chance to strut its stuff for the camera:
"Dry Dog Wet Dog came about with washing my own dogs. Their personalities change when they know it's bath time," Hodson told My Modern Met.
"So I decided to create a series of the different looks and not only personalities but the difference in look from groomed to wet."
