Ever wonder how to make the iconic drink Don Draper was sipping all hours of the day? Well, it turns out your favorite "Mad Man" was actually drinking an old fashioned.

If you're not familiar with this boozy beverage, let me fill you in.

An old fashioned is a classic cocktail traditionally made with sugar, bitters, whiskey, water and a citrus peel.

For a sweet twist on the cocktail, we use maple syrup instead of sugar. If you're looking to mix one of these up at home, it's pretty simple.

To start, add half a teaspoon of maple syrup to a rocks glass. Drop in a few dashes of Angostura bitters to taste. Add ice, 2 ounces of bourbon and stir.

Then, squeeze a strip of orange peel over the glass and run it around the rim. Add the peel to the drink. Lastly, drop in a plump, brandied cherry.

Now kick your feet up, take a sip and write a TV ad that will make people feel feelings.
