Bride Gets Amazing Surprise After Photographer Cancels On Wedding Day (Photos)
After months of planning, Heather and Matt Koehler's wedding day finally came.
But just as Heather was getting ready to walk down the aisle, the bride's worst nightmare came true: Her wedding photographer was nowhere to be found.
The 27-year-old was obviously devastated, but there was nothing she could do. So, the wedding proceeded without the professional photos she always dreamed of having to remember the day.
After photographer Dana Gruszynski got word of Koehler's wedding mishap, she decided to step in and offer her a stylized post-wedding photo shoot -- for free!
However, this kind-hearted photographer went way above and beyond a simple shoot.
She surprised the bride and groom by hosting a redo of their wedding day in the garden of her cousin's gorgeous countryside residence, capturing all sorts of stunning photographs.
Take a look at the pictures to see this sweet story.
Heather and Matt Koehler's wedding nightmares came true when their photographer stood them up on the big day.
In an interview with MLive, Heather revealed, "Photos are easily the one thing that is most important for the day. I even told my bridesmaid over dinner that the pictures are probably the most important thing for me."
After photographer Dana Gruszynski heard what happened to the Koehlers, she reached out to Heather Koehler and offered to do a free stylized shoot for her and her new husband.
However, this awesome photographer had plans for way more than a simple photo shoot.
She wanted to recreate Heather and Matt's entire wedding day and photograph it.
Gruszynski got in touch with Heather's sister and had her contact some of the Koehlers' wedding guests.
Then, she used Facebook photos taken by guests to replicate Heather's wedding day down to every last detail including the cake...
...and the bouquet.
Gruszynski then invited everyone to her cousin's countryside house...
And surprised the bride with a whole new wedding day...
...with a professional photographer on hand, of course!
Gruszynski said, "I'm not married, but I've done my fair share of weddings -- I love weddings and am a hopeless romantic."
She continued, "I can't imagine not having a professional photographer there to capture the most important day of a bride's life."
Clearly, Heather and Matt were overjoyed by Gruszynski's touching surprise.
Gruszynski said, "The moment they hit the corner and saw their family and friends, she lost it. Even Matt was tearing up. You knew it was going to be a special day."
The couple then spent the day posing with friends and family as Gruszynski snapped all sorts of incredible photographs.
Heather gushed, "I still can't believe she went through all of this trouble for me. It's a huge blessing and something I'll remember forever."
