10 Things To Expect From This Year's MTV VMA Host, Miley Cyrus

by Hannah McGee

Bad news: Miley Cyrus won't be performing at the VMAs. Good news: Foam fingers might have a shot at redeeming their reputation!

This Sunday, Miley Cyrus will be hosting the 2015 MTV VMAs! If this year's VMAs are any reflection of her 2013 performance with Robin Thicke, we're in for an awards show to remember.

Here are 10 things we should anticipate from 2015 VMA host Miley Cyrus.

1. Expect the unexpected.

Miley Cyrus has a reputation for doing whatever the hell she wants. This means she's known for being unconventional and, in some cases, unaccepted.

Whatever she has already decided to do, be prepared for it. It could literally be anything.

2. Expect a controversy.

Even though we can say she probably won't be grinding up against Robin Thicke, something blasphemous is going to happen.

It doesn't matter whether or not you think it's going to happen; it's going to happen. The Internet will make it happen.

3. Expect to be entertained.

While we all love to hate Miley, we cannot deny she is a true and talented performer.

Whether or not she does well, there will definitely be something to discuss and debate in the following days (or weeks, depending on expectation number two). Whatever she does, you will be entertained.

4. Expect to cringe-laugh.

Miley Cyrus is not new to this whole hosting gig. She has hosted "Saturday Night Live" twice, and they weren't exactly great. She is a performer, but she started as a Disney performer.

That means however bad the joke was, kids were most likely going to laugh. You have to be on a whole other level to make adults laugh, and she definitely needs the practice.

5. Expect a wardrobe malfunction.

With the amount of wardrobe changes that award show hosts go through, it's pretty much a given.

Disclaimer: Although I think there will be some sort of slippage, it might not be from Miley. It could happen to any one of the award winners when they attempt to tackle those steps.

6. Expect a vocal performance.

When Miley hosted "SNL" in 2011, she was not the musical guest. That being said, she worked a vocal performance into her opening monologue.

I expect no less from the actress/singer/weed enthusiast at this year's VMAs. There has to be some sort of redemption from Robin Thicke, that foam finger and the tongue.

7. Expect her to be (somewhat) humble.

In that same clip as mentioned above, Miley sang a song called, "Sorry That I'm Not Perfect."

All jokes and entertainment values aside, she knows she has made mistakes in the past and that she is a role model to many young girls.

Expect Miley to be more comfortable with who she is and more aware of the image she puts out.

8. Expect to have no idea what is happening.

It will be the best of times; it will be the worst of times; there will be times that fall smack dab in the middle.

Do you have no idea what those props are, what those dance moves are or what she just said to him?

Miley, get it together or don't. It's our reputation.

9. Expect very, very strange costume changes.

Again, as Miley's reputation has proven, nothing is out of the question.

In 2010, MTV Europe host Eva Longoria went through an astonishing 10 different outfits over the course of the show. Miley Cyrus easily racks up more wow factors than Eva Longoria, so expect as many, if not more, costume changes.

10. Expect that she will (maybe) be high.

At the 2013 EMAs, Miley performed and accepted the Best Video award for her song, "Wrecking Ball." During her acceptance speech, she pulled a joint out of her bag and starting smoking it.

Her love of marijuana is well-known, and there is no doubt she will hit the stuff before, during and after her time as host this year at the VMAs.

Overall, with Miley as host, you can expect a roaring good time. Be prepared for the backlash of the night; pick your sides quickly and stick to them.

Enjoy the show this Sunday, August 30 on MTV.
