Taylor Swift Says She Wants To Chill And 'Maybe Not Write New Music'

by Eitan Levine

Taylor Swift needs a nap.

I think we can all agree it's been a long summer for Taylor Swift.

The singer/songwriter/pop culture icon/awful dancer essentially spent nearly every moment of the year touring and promoting 1989, and she even had to squash beef with Nicki Minaj.

The thing is, as much as her brand makes her seem like an immortal demigod sculpted to teach humanity about feminism and the way to properly introduce celebrity guests on stage, Taylor is skin and bone at the end of the day.

She gets tired like the rest of us and also realizes that as much as she needs to take a hiatus from doing concerts and picking on Katy Perry, we may need to take a hiatus from the Taylor being constantly shoved int0 our faces any time we look at a screen.

In an interview with NME, Taylor announced her plans to take a break from the spotlight.

She said,

I think I should take some time off. I think people might need a break from me. I'm going to… I don't know. Hang out with my friends. Write new music. Maybe not write new music. I don't know.

As expected, the Internet did not take this news lightly.

#TaylorSwift taking a break from music after her tour? #Nooo #Whyyy — andrea➰ (@falcioac) October 9, 2015

Swifties across the world are LOST.

OMG MOM WHY ARE YOU TAKING A BREAK!?!? @taylorswift13 — lenet (@taygcvamps) October 9, 2015

Some pleaded with their lord to reconsider the break.

I mean, haven't Swift fans been through enough this summer?

At the end of the day, #TeamTaylor will be right here waiting for the queen when she gets back.

I'll always support whatever Taylor Swift's decision. If she need a break, I'll always be a Swiftie no matter what. — sonic_swift (@jaysonnaey13) October 9, 2015
