If you think for one goddamn second Kanye has time to hype a New York Fashion Week show for his latest collection, Yeezy Season 2, then you are dumber than the person who invented MTV's Video Vanguard Award.
HE IS A BUSY GUY, OK?
Ye seemingly decided last minute to showcase his collection at the Skylight Modern at 537 West 27th St. on Wednesday September 16, and everyone is psyched AF except, that is, the other brands slated for runway shows during the same time slot.
Upon hearing of the surprise show, Anne Bowen worried her streetwear line, Nomad VII by Anne Bowen, would suffer at the hands of Yeezy's superstar extravaganza, which will reportedly feature a performance by Vanessa Beecroft.
Bowen told WWD,
Kanye knows he is a media sensation and it is just not ethical to do this. It's like we are David and he is Goliath. We have put our heart and soul into our show, and should not be stepped on like this.
With the rapper as a contender, the designer would have to bust the equivalent of a dragon's ass to push for attendees and press to choose her show over Ye's.
FAT CHANCE, ANNE.
She originally filed a complaint with the CFDA Fashion Calendar, but without support from the third designer scheduled to showcase on Wednesday, Naeem Khan, Bowen's odds of halting the great Kanye remained slim.
Bowen finally agreed to move her show to Thursday at 12:30 pm to avoid inevitable pulverization at the hands of Yeezasaurus.
Sometimes even David has to take a pass and let the massive Goliath show everyone the fresh, fancy boots he designed.
