Stunt Doubles For 'Mad Max' Fell In Love, Got Married And Had A Kid

by Adam Pliskin

"Mad Max: Fury Road" is a badass action movie that required a great deal of stunt work. As such, the movie took an incredibly long time to film.

Those conditions set the stage for a budding romance between two of the film's principal stunt people.

Dane Grant, 37, served as Tom Hardy's stunt double and Dayna Porter, 39, was Charlize Theron's backup.

While working on the film together, these two stunt doubles fell in love and have since tied the knot.

Grant said,

I remember that first day meeting her in the stunt rehearsal gym. She stood out for all the right reasons.

By training together for an extended period of time, Grant and Porter got to know each other well.

They began a romantic relationship, and now they even have a child together.

Grant said,

Every time we get to work together is a blast, but none more so than the initial fight rehearsal. In the film, it's the first time Max meets Furiosa and they fight it out with a sequence that fight choreographer had us training non-stop for weeks.

If you haven't seen "Mad Max" yet, I highly recommend you check it out. It's not only an impressive action movie, it's also a linchpin for love.
