Stop Everything: 'Pitch Perfect 3' Is Actually Happening
There's another aca-sequel coming your way.
Christmas came early for "Pitch Perfect" fans on Monday in the form of an Anna Kendrick Instagram post.
The picture shows the 29-year-old star of the wildly successful musical comedy franchise holding up three fingers and is tagged with the caption “Happening #3." The news sent fans of music without musical instruments into a frenzy of excitement.
Universal also confirmed Kendrick will be rejoining Rebel Wilson in "Pitch Perfect 3," though Fat Amy already kinda leaked that to the LA Times back in April.
News: Rebel Wilson just told me there will be a 3rd @PitchPerfect and she recently signed on to be in it! (She doesn't know abt Kendrick.) — Amy Kaufman (@AmyKinLA) April 11, 2015
"Pitch Perfect 2" has already pulled in in over $250 million in box office sales, which makes it the highest grossing musical comedy of all time -- a spot previously held by "School of Rock," which pulled in just over $131 million.
Kay Cannon, who wrote the first two films in the "Pitch Perfect" franchise, is still in negotiations to pen "PP3."
It is also unclear if Elizabeth Banks will be back to direct the next "Pitch Perfect" movie after making her directorial debut with "Pitch Perfect 2."
