Ellen DeGeneres Reminds Us To Be 'Different' During Teen Choice Awards (Video)

Ellen DeGeneres gave us another reason to love her on Sunday night at the Teen Choice Awards.

The talk show host took home the Choice Comedian award at this year’s event and used the opportunity to give an acceptance speech that was equal parts brilliantly funny and incredibly touching.

After joking about how teens clearly make great choices because they voted her to get the award, DeGeneres gave an inspirational speech about how teens shouldn't be afraid to express themselves.

During the speech, DeGeneres said,

There was a time in my life that I was not chosen. I was the opposite of chosen... because I was different and I think I want to make sure that everyone knows that what makes you different right now makes you stand out later in life. So, you should be proud of being different. You should be proud of who you are.

She ended the speech by noting Sunday was her seventh wedding anniversary before sending some love over to Portia de Rossi, who was sitting in the audience.

Side note: Ellen doesn’t age, right? I’m convinced Ellen and Portia made a deal with the devil or some other mythical force because they both physically don’t age.
