Poor, innocent Ryan Seacrest.

While on his way to reveal the Times Square ball for New Year's Eve, the 42-year-old host got stuck in an elevator for 40 minutes.

LOL, stop laughing. It's not funny. It's just another sign 2017 is gonna be a shit show. We're off to a great start!

On Friday morning, Ryan Seacrest added photos and videos of him on his way to "Good Morning America." He unfortunately had some trouble getting to the ball because he got trapped in an elevator.

RYAN? ARE YOU OK? HANG IN THERE, BUDDY. WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!  #Pray4Ryan

He added a heartbreaking clip of him begging for help. HE LOOKS SO SCARED. STAY STRONG IN THERE, RYAN! KEEP FIGHTING!

Soon enough, a team of firefighters heard Ryan's cry for help. They rushed to the scene and saved his life.

That was a close one!

I'ma be serious for a sec -- that firefighter in the background is really freaking hot.

Like, hello. You can come spray me with your water hose any time.

Too much? My b.

Ryan Seacrest was able to make it to the set of "Good Morning America" safely, in case you were still worried about our boy.

He captioned one of the photos,

after this morning's elevator ride, @goodmorningamerica feels extra spacious #RockinEve @officialnyre

Haha, oh Ryan. You know how to make a girl laugh.

Ryan then got really into posting updates about the elevator. He shared a video of him taking the elevator again to go back down.

Like, we get it. You were trapped. It was scary. Now can you chill wit da elevator snaps?!

Just kidding, Ryan. I love you. Be sure to watch this stud slay on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" special.

I'll be at a party making out with a wine bottle and crying in the corner, so live it up, I guess.

Happy New Year, everyone!
