A Rapper Killed His Wife After She Had Alleged Affair With Trey Songz

Jealousy may have caused the deaths of rapper Earl Hayes and VH1 star Stephanie Moseley. The two have been identified as victims in an apparent murder-suicide.

And in a bizarre plot twist, boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr. may have witnessed the entire event via FaceTime.

At 7:30 am Monday, police responded to a call from an apartment complex in Los Angeles' Fairfax District, where a resident reported hearing several gunshots.

Police heard one gunshot as they entered the apartment and called for a backup SWAT team, according to LAPD's Sgt. Barry Montgomery.

They soon discovered the bodies of both Hayes, 34, and Moseley, 30, marked with fatal gunshot wounds.

A spokesman for the LAPD confirmed Hayes shot Moseley, then himself, and police recovered the weapon in question.

TMZ reports an enraged Hayes allegedly accused Moseley, a dancer and actress on VH1's "Hit the Floor," of infidelity with singer Trey Songz and called his close friend, Mayweather, to back up his claims. Hayes was once signed to Philthy Rich Records, owned by Mayweather at the time.

According to TMZ's unnamed sources, the couple split two years ago over Moseley's relationship with Songz, but had reconciled.

Sources close to Mayweather reportedly told TMZ during the FaceTime call, the boxer begged Hayes to calm down and put the gun away.

The call was ongoing when Hayes began firing, and Mayweather allegedly "heard everything."

A VH1 spokesperson issued a statement confirming Moseley's death:

We are incredibly saddened to hear the news of the passing of Stephanie Moseley. VH1 and the entire 'Hit The Floor' family send our thoughts and condolences to her family and friends at this difficult time.

Burrel Wilks III, Hayes' friend and self-described life coach, told KTLA the incident seems entirely contrary to the songwriter's nature. He said,

No one [saw] this coming — because, again, Hayes is not a violent guy...We're all devastated. We're at a loss for words on this one.

Officials have yet to address TMZ's claim that Mayweather witnessed the crime.

Songz, who's nicknamed "Mr. Steal Your Girl" after a song name from his Trigga album, tweeted a message seemingly directed at Moseley.
