What the hell is wrong with people? I'm sure Chrissy Teigen has the same exact question after her most recent run-in with the paparazzi.

The 30-year-old supermodel took to Twitter to share disgusting words from an encounter with a camera-wielding maniac inside John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City.

Teigen had been minding her own business as she made her way through the airport when a photographer asked her an extremely racist question about her husband John Legend.

Chrissy's tweet reads,

Paparazzi at JFK just asked me, "If we evolved from monkeys, why is John Legend still around?" - and people wonder why celebs lose it in pics.

Take a deep breath, people. Keep calm. We can't let the scum of the Earth get the best of us. It's difficult, I know...

Surprisingly, Chrissy Teigen was able to remain calm enough to go about her day and tweet about the situation instead.

Here's Chrissy Teigen's tweet about a blatantly racist question a photographer asked her about John Legend.

Let's all share a moment of silence for this paparazzo's brain cells. They are obviously nonexistent.

In response to the baffling question, Twitter users had a few questions of their own.

Most people just couldn't get over how repulsive this photographer was being.

How is it even possible for a human being to be that vile?!

Perhaps the craziest part about this whole thing is John Legend was walking right next to his wife when the racist question was asked.

I think it's safe to say John Legend's composure is unbreakable -- just like his love for Chrissy.

Eventually, John and Chrissy made it back to Los Angeles without running into any racists at the airport.

As upsetting as it may be to hear about your favorite people being subject to racism just like anyone else with a little melanin in their skin, this instance just goes to show no one is safe from the bigotry and racism that plagues this cold world we live in -- not even celebrities.

All we can do is learn from tough moments like these and use them for guidance. Instead of losing your cool like most people would expect you to do, remain calm, tweet about it, and let karma do what it does.

It works like a charm! And besides, that racist paparazzi loser is just jealous his life doesn't look nearly this awesome...
