The Bachelor nation was heartbroken to hear that previous Bachelorette contestant Michael Nance has been found dead at 31 years old.
Police responded to a report regarding an unresponsive male, and a cause of death has not yet been released.
However, a statement by the Austin Police Department's Homicide Unit, as obtained by the Daily News, says, "At this point it is not a suspicious death and the manner will be determined by the medical examiner."
What we do know is that the officers were dispatched around 2:10 a.m., and that Nance was pronounced deceased just before 3 a.m.
Michael appeared on season 8 of The Bachelorette and competed for Emily Maynard's heart.
Along with many of Nance's cast members, Emily shared her solemn thoughts and support on Twitter this morning after learning the news. She wrote to fans and said,
So sad waking up to the news about Michael Nance. Such a kind heart with so much talent. Sending prayers and love to his family and friends.
Additional cast members also shared their remorse on social media, and fellow cast member Tony Pieper told E! News,
My fondest memories of Michael were when he would sing and play guitar in the Bachelor house. You could tell that was his happy and joyous place. He had such a big heart and was such a genuine guy. We lost a good one in Michael. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. RIP, buddy.
Kalon McMahon, who also shared the house with Nance added,
He was one of the nicest and most genuine guys in the house. We kept in touch after the show and I'm just really sad. His music was amazing. He was amazing. He was a gentle giant.
Elite Daily sends support and love to Nance's family and friends during this difficult time.
