6 Reasons To Date The Funny Girl

by Paul Hudson

A relationship without laughter is a joke of a relationship.

Laughter is happiness in physical form. It’s a break from your mundane reality. It creates the pleasant moments in your life -- however rare these can sometimes be. If you have laughter in your relationship, you've found happiness.

This is why you always want to date the funny girl, the one who makes you laugh. If you find someone who laughs at your jokes and cracks you up in return, you two are compatible.

Moments filled with laughter are fleeting. But they remind us that no matter how bad things get, there's always something to smile about. That’s what a partner is there for -- to remind you that there is always a reason to be happy. If you don’t have that, you don’t have much.

This girl doesn’t need to be a comedian, but she does need to make you laugh. Being in a relationship that makes you laugh will bring balance to your life. Dating someone who can bring you so much light and happiness is a thing of beauty. So many things can happen when you date a woman who is funny. Here are a few:

1. Your stress level falls.

Laughter is nature’s best medicine. It does what little else can do: It sets your mind straight and puts you at ease. It eases stress and anxiety -- and, in doing so, helps your body to function more efficiently. If you laugh a lot, you will sleep better and feel better. You'll probably also look more refreshed. Which part of that doesn’t sound appealing?

Stressful relationships never become healthy, loving relationships. Stress can cause us to lash out or ignore our loved ones. Finding someone to keep you at ease is incredibly important.

2. She knows better than to take life too seriously.

Her free-spirited nature will rub off on you. She’s optimistic no matter how many times she fails. She is often sarcastic, but she also doesn’t take things too personally. She knows how to poke fun at life. And why shouldn’t she? Life pokes fun at us all the time.

This lighter way of moving through the world will almost certainly affect your outlook. You’ll want to be a part of her world, especially since it seems to be much more pleasant than your own.

3. She always knows how to cheer you up.

No matter how cloudy your day may seem, she always manages to be your sunshine, breaking through from behind the stormy sky. Just looking at her makes you smile. She knows how to tickle your funny bone, so just the knowledge of her presence makes you feel better.

Sometimes life can be very difficult. Sometimes things seem to be going badly, and you can't always motivate yourself. That’s why you have her in your life: to remind you that you can accomplish anything as long as you put your mind to it -- no matter how grim the outlook seems.

4. She laughs off mistakes.

You’re both going to make your fair shares of mistakes. You’re going to do and say things that you never intended. We’re human, and we have to learn from our mistakes. If we don't, we won't be able to teach our children much.

She knows that you love her even when you make mistakes. She trusts you, and she's willing to work on your relationship together, making progress every step of the way. She’s the only person you'll be able to communicate with so openly.

5. Life feels "right" for once.

Your mind is filled with pleasant thoughts -- and not the negative ones that so easily find their way into your head. You begin to see opportunities around every corner. You feel like the world is finally playing on your team.

Never forget that she is the reason life feels so good. That can happen; you can indulge yourself so much in your good fortune that you forget who made it happen. Don’t be that guy.

6. You’ll quickly realize that she's "the one."

You'll know it's right when you realize that you're happier than you ever have been. There's one undeniable fact of your relationship: She makes you laugh. The funny girl will always make you happier than anyone else. Humor is an undeniably good trait.

And it's not about having a "great sense of humor." Like I said, she doesn't have to be doing stand-up. It's about having the same sense of humor. If you have the same sense of humor, you'll laugh together -- no matter how silly the joke. I promise that you'll be the happiest guy in the world.
