People Are Experimenting With Same-Sex Hookups More Than Ever Before

by Leigh Weingus

It seems the days of shame surrounding sexual exploration are, at least, somewhat behind us.

According to a new study, the rate of same-sex hookups doubled over the past 24 years, which is pretty awesome if you ask me.

This data comes from research recently published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, which looked at survey data collected from 30,000 Americans between 1973 and 2014.

Between 1990 and 2014, the number of same-sex hookups doubled. And according to the researchers, these numbers weren't driven by people who identified as gay or lesbian. Actually, it came from people who were hooking up with members of both sexes.

In other words, they were experimenting.

According to recent data, only 2 percent of the American population identifies as gay or lesbian, and only 1 percent identifies as bisexual.

So while we may not be getting any more gay as a society, it is pretty cool we're way more open to trying to figure out which way we swing or if we fall somewhere in the middle.

In any case, get out there and start smooching any guy or girl you find attractive. Everyone's doing it!
