Guys Admit Why They Plan On Ditching Their GFs To Be Single In The New Year

With 2017 slowly creeping up on us, the latest item on our to-do list is to jot down what the heck our New Year's Resolutions will be.

For some, that promise is to cut back on the French fries and to make it to the gym more than once a year.

For others, it's to be more patient on dating apps or to finally muster up the courage to ask our boss for that much deserved raise.

But then, there are people who are looking to start a new year with a new partner in crime, ditching their old significant other for the chance to start fresh when it comes to finding love.

Take these four guys, for example, who plan on ditching their girlfriends before the new year to be single by 2017:

"New year, new boo."

I find that the new year is just the best time to start fresh and start over. I've been dating this one girl pretty seriously for the past three months, and I'm just not wanting to ring in the New Year with her. I'm looking forward to a new year and a new boo.

"I'm ready for a change."

The thing with my current girlfriend is that I don't see a future with her. Guys just know that. It's something I've felt since day one and just kind of stuck around because she's easy to chill with, and it's nice to have someone. My resolution is that, by January 2, I'm back on Tinder.

"It just isn't working out."

Right before Thanksgiving, we had our seventh fight of the month. Our relationship is on a constant downhill spiral. We've hit the point where we are honestly sick of one another. It's been almost a year, and I still feel like things should be pretty basic between us, like easy-going. Instead, we are always having serious talks and fights about stuff that doesn't matter when you've only dated someone less than a year. That's why I want to start the new year as a single guy back on the prowl.

"I don't want her to break up with me first."

I was flipping through stuff on my girlfriend's phone the other night and saw she was texting this other guy about how she was going to break up with me, and then, he can take her out on a date. She doesn't know that I know or that I saw this. It makes things really, really fun for me. Since I know she wants out, I'm going to drag this on a little longer, and then, break up with her on Christmas or New Year's. I think she'll be shocked.
