If the Barbie movie posters have taught us anything, it’s that Barbie is everything and 2023 is set to be her year. Fans of the career-driven, fashionista can now step foot in her iconic Malibu Dreamhouse with the World of Barbie experience in Los Angeles.
Ahead of the Insta-worthy pop-up opening its doors for fans on April 14, Elite Daily got a first glimpse inside Barbie’s house, including walking through her closet, relaxing in her pink camper, and posing for pics in a Barbie box.
Here’s what you can expect when you visit the World of Barbie:
You’ll definitely want to snap a pic inside Barbie’s walk-in closet — just make sure you’re also dressed the part. Barbiecore attire is necessary, so break out the pink ‘fits and neon colors. I planned my OOTD around iridescent pink boots I bought for a Harry Styles concert.
Barbie is known as a boss babe, who has tried pretty much every single career possible. You can take a moment to test a few of these job opportunities for yourself. The World of Barbie has a science lab, recording studio, talk show set, and even spaceship to see if you might want to try another career path.
The highlight of the World of Barbie pop-up for my friend and I was the pool in Barbie’s backyard. The ball pit was so fun to play around in and snap pics. I even tried to recreate Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour stage dive.
In addition to the Insta-worthy photo moments, the World of Barbie also had a museum of Barbies and toys from throughout Mattel’s history. The OG Barbie was even on display for fans to see IRL. This is the same Barbie that Margot Robbie is dressed as in the first Barbie teaser trailer.
Another exciting attraction within the Barbie pop-up is the camper van that looks just like Barbie’s Dreamcamper. You can sit up front and pretend you’re driving, or check out the indoor hammock and the kitchen setup near the back. The fridge even has some food inside.
As you exit, there is a World of Barbie store with merch that includes hot pink hoodies that are perfect if you’re planning an outfit to wear to the Barbie movie, as well as FUNBOY’s Barbie collection. You can also make your own Barbie doll for $55, which includes outfits, accessories, and a World of Barbie tote. Some influencers were making mini-me Barbies to take with them to Coachella.
Tickets are available now for World of Barbie in Los Angeles and range from $35 to $41. The experience is open Wednesday through Sunday, and hours vary depending on the day. It should take your about an hour to get through, and parking is free for the first 90 minutes at the Santa Monica Place Mall.
The LA pop-up will also have special events, like an ongoing Sips After Sunset 21 and up party that’ll begin in May. At this particular event, there will be a DJ and Barbie-themed cocktails. Whether you go to an after-hour celebration or visit with your besties on the weekend, live your best Barbie life and take tons of pretty pink pics.
