Jackie Aina received her first invite to the Met Gala in 2020. Sadly, that event was obviously canceled, so fans have had to wait to see Aina absolutely slay on the museum’s steps for a full 15 months. But boy, was it worth the wait. The YouTuber that taught pretty much every young millennial and Gen Zer how to do their makeup stunned with her 2021 Met Gala dress, a gown designed by Fe Noel.
Before gracing the Met Gala red carpet for photos, Aina posted an image of herself on Instagram wearing her Met Gala outfit and announcing her theme this year was “Black Barbie.”
Aina also posted a short video to Instagram showing the process of getting herself ready for the red carpet. Clearly, it takes a village.
Once she arrived to the carpet, Aina gave fans a really good look at her ‘fit. The pink Fe Noel gown featured a darker pink bodysuit peeking out from underneath a lighter pink, spaghetti-strap gown. The dress also boasted a thigh-high slit, lined with ruffles.
Although fans don’t see much of what goes on inside the Met Gala, Aina’s followers got one parting glimpse of her look, as Aina shared a photo with iconic model Iman on her IG Stories.
