One of the most eye-grabbing qualities of BTS’ style is their ever-changing hair. The septet isn’t afraid to experiment with bold, new colors and styles, which is one aspect of their comebacks that makes them so exciting. Here are BTS’ most iconic hair transformations through the years.

RM’s gorgeous purple hair at the 2018 Melon Music Awards was all ARMYs could talk about that night. Paired with his Gucci outfit, RM looked like a million bucks walking the red carpet.

During an August 2020 AskAnythingChat, RM said he wouldn’t dye his hair pink ever again because it reminded him of his “dark side.” However, less than a year later, he surprised fans by returning to the color for BTS’ “Butter” comeback in May 2021. ARMYs thought it looked so good on him, they trended “Pink Joon” on Twitter.

Since Jin usually rocks dark shades, his blonde hair during BTS’ “Idol” era in 2018 was a look to remember.

Jin’s purple hair of summer 2019 was so iconic, it will always remind ARMYs of BTS’ Love Yourself: Speak Yourself tour. Fans thought the color choice was a visual representation of the group’s iconic phrase “I purple you” — BTS’ way of telling ARMYs, “I love you.”

No ARMY will ever be able to forget Suga’s mint green hair from BTS’ November 2015 comeback for The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 2. He flaunted the hair color for the first time in the group’s “Run” music video, and ever since then, fans have been crossing their fingers he’ll rock the color again someday.

White hair is hard to pull off, but somehow Suga makes it work every time. Just look at how breathtaking he looked at the 2017 KBS Song Festival.

BTS’ Love Yourself: Her comeback in September 2017 brought many surprising hair colors from the members with it. At the time, J-Hope showed off a bright red shade, and ARMYs thought it suited his equally bright personality perfectly.

Of course, BTS’ “Butter” comeback had to have at least one member rocking golden hair, and that person turned out to be J-Hope. Although he’s gone blonde a few times before, he’s never had his hair this yellow until now, making it one of his most memorable looks.

Jimin’s flaming orange hair from November 2015 will forever be missed. He debuted the flashy look during BTS’ “Run” era, and he had the same shade during his iconic “Perfect Man” performance at the MBC Music Festival that month.

Jimin had one of the most dramatic hair changes in BTS during their Map of the Soul: Persona comeback in April 2019. To match the color of the group’s new album cover and their “Boy With Luv” music video outfits, Jimin dyed his hair a coral pink shade.

V made a huge statement during BTS’ Love Yourself: Answer comeback in August 2018 by dying his hair half pink and half orangey-blonde. In fact, the look was so memorable, his Mattel doll rocked the same two shades.

V is always trying out new colors. In April 2019, he dyed his hair turquoise for the first time. It offered a nice contrast to BTS’ pink “Boy With Luv”-era aesthetic.

In August 2018, Jungkook showed off a bright red hairstyle, which soon faded to pink. Since he had stuck with dark shades for several years, fans couldn’t believe how bright he went this time around, marking it as one of his most memorable looks of all time.
