Um, Harry Styles Just Addressed That Chris Pine Spit Rumor

The Don’t Worry Darling cast and crew premiered their film at the 2022 Venice International Film Festival. When Styles took his seat next to Pine for the screening, fans speculated the singer spit into his co-star’s lap, mainly based on Pine’s facial expressions.

Fans replayed the moment over and over again trying to see if Styles actually spit on Pine. While some were convinced it happened due to a possible rift between the actors, others were skeptical and thought it was all just a misunderstanding.

Even after zooming into the video and watching it in slow motion, fans just couldn’t come to a conclusion, and the incident was dubbed “spit-gate” as a result.

After the incident went viral, a representative for Pine’s team called the rumors a “complete fabrication” and said there is “nothing but respect between these two men.” A source close to Styles also reportedly shut down the rumors. “This is not true,” they told The Guardian.

Styles doesn’t seem to be phased over the rumors. During his Sept. 7 show at Madison Square Garden, the star told the crowd it was “wonderful” to be back in New York after taking a trip to Italy. “I just popped very quickly to Venice to spit on Chris Pine,” he said.

Fans joked Styles was probably itching to make fun of “spit-gate.”

They also thought Styles and Pine were probably laughing about the whole thing behind the scenes while the internet was in shambles over the rumors of a feud between them.

The Don’t Worry Darling drama will definitely go down as one of the most iconic pop culture moments of 2022.
