Two generations of East High Wildcats came together at the 2022 Met Gala, and it was music to High School Musical fans’ ears. The internet couldn’t get enough of Olivia Rodrigo and Vanessa Hudgens’ moment.
Hudgens was one of Vogue’s red carpet correspondents, and her most exciting interview of the night may have been when she spoke with Olivia Rodrigo alongside her co-host, Vogue’s editor-at-large Hamish Bowles.
It was truly iconic, since Hudgens played Gabriella in the High School Musical movies, and Rodrigo plays the character’s spiritual successor Nini in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

The cherry on top of it all was Hudgens acknowledging their connection by saying during the broadcast that Rodrigo is “little miss new Gabriella.”
