The 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards were held at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Tuesday, March 22. People reports that the night’s host LL Cool J said in a press release ahead of the show that he’d have “some great surprises throughout the night.”
The rapper began his fiery performance with his classic hit “Mama Said Knock You Out.” He then moved on to tracks like “Rampage,” “The Boomin System,” and “Rock The Bells” before closing his performance by rapping his verse in the late Craig Mack's single, "Flava In Ya Ear (Remix)."
LL Cool J’s iHeartRadio Music Awards performance was a huge throwback for longtime fans of the rapper. “Those songs took me back!” one fan tweeted. “Don't call it a comeback he [has] been here for years,” another wrote.
The star’s mind-blowing iHeartRadio Music Awards performance comes just months after he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in October. “It was one of the most amazing nights of my life, man,” LL Cool J told the New York Post about the ceremony in a recent interview.
LL Cool J also spoke to the Post about his friend and collaborator, Jennifer Lopez. She received the Icon Award at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards. “When she needs something, I’m there for her; when I need something, she’s there for me,” he said.
