Martha graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism. During her time in college, she wrote as a columnist for her school newspaper. Most of the topics she wrote about included advice pieces for college students about how to make healthy choices while excelling in school and enjoying their college years. A year after graduating from college, Martha got her first book published. The book consists of short stories, reflections, and poems about her life experiences, lessons, and faith. Currently, Martha writes for a mental health organization. She wants to reach out to millennials who struggle with mood disorders by sharing her own story and her insights about acceptance. She also wants to educate the public about mental health etiquette and why it is important to break the stigma.
