A Major 'GOT' Season 8 Spoiler Was Revealed When These Weapons Were Spotted On Set

Game of Thrones Season 7 was only seven episodes long, instead of the usual 10 hours of content we have gotten per season for the first six years. While the show runners claimed that was due to only having enough content for seven hours instead of 10, there were times when plot points (and time) seemed to magically compress to fill the space allotted. Some of those plot points that were dropped are actually pretty important. As one new Game Of Thrones Season 8 spoiler reveals, the actual plot point may have fallen off the edge of the screen, but the outcome will still return for fans to be taken aback by. Warning: Game of Thrones Season 8 potential spoilers ahead.

While it's been reported that most of the outdoor location filming for Game of Thrones Season 8 won't begin until January, in order to take advantage of the wintry weather, that doesn't mean it's being held entirely. There's quite a few enormous scenes and set pieces in the final six episodes for the show to get through.

Over the course of the last month, the production has been prepping the Winterfell set, with fully operational battlements for actors to use. From the photos, it is complete, and the show is prepping the fields near where the Battle of the Bastards was fought to be snowed upon.

While the security teams that keep fans at a distance aren't so worried about keeping the white tarps that go under the fake snow from a few long lensed cameras, they are working harder to keep the actual actors away from them. Which is why we have photos of the sets of Winterfell, and the fields around them, but none of armies actually rehearsing the battles on those fields.

The armies, according to anonymous reports, are the armies of the Unsullied. Now these reports are not clear if what they're filming is a battle or just a scene where Daenerys' incredibly impressive armies come walking up to the Winterfell gates. There have yet to be signs of stunt men in green patchy outfits that denote pre-CGI White Walkers. But it's the weapons the Unsullied are carrying that got the attention of those trying to get a glimpse of filming.

According to the reports, the Unsullied's spears are all now reconfigured with large, obvious dragonglass tips.

(Translation: New photo from the Titanic Studios in Belfast, you can see wooden barricades, what will they be up to?)

Now, arming those who would face the Night King's army with dragonglass was Jon's entire reason to go to Dragonstone in the first place. His convincing of Tyrion (who then convinced Dany) to let him mine the stuff to take back to Winterfell was the first moment of truce between the King in the North and the Mother of Dragons. Dany's visit to the Dragonglass mines to see the images of the White Walkers was a major breakthrough in her and Jon's relationship.

And then... nada. They even brought in Gendry, who could blacksmith up some weapons to hold these dragonglass shards, and no one mentioned it. They were too busy building to the trip "Beyond the Wall."

Once Dany was ready to take down the Night King, you might have thought someone would speak of "redoubling the efforts to mine dragon glass to suit up the Unsullied and the Dothraki." But no. Not a peep. Instead, the Unsullied are just going to show up for battle, armed to the teeth with the stuff, like magic.

So will the final battle take place at Winterfell? Or are the Unsullied merely stopping here on their way Northward? Even if they are prepping to film a battle, it's not clear if this is *the* final battle where Jon Snow (errr, Aegon Targaryen) faces down the Night King once and for all, or a side skirmish that's happening at Winterfell while the main battle is happening elsewhere.

We'll keep our eyes peeled for more reports as they come.

Game of Thrones Season 8 will arrive on HBO sometime in the near future, though exactly when we can't say. Let's go with 2019 until we hear otherwise.
