Sick Of Your City? This Website Will Tell You Where You Should Live Instead

by Kate Ryan

Deciding where to move just got a lot easier. Teleport, a new, free web app, wants to help you figure out where you should really be living based on various priorities like living costs, housing, education quality and the start-up scene.

The easiest way to get started is to link Teleport to one of your social media profiles like Facebook or Twitter. From there, you enter a few personal details about your job and current location. Then you select what factors are most important to you when it comes to choosing a new city. Seconds later, a list of viable options pops up on your screen.

While there are limited career options on the app (Teleport won't let you identify as a writer), the most useful information comes in the form of budget adjustments. For each city Teleport matches you with, you're given an estimate of how much you'll either save or spend based on your current budget.

I tried the website for myself and learned Vienna may be my ideal place to live between affordable housing and clean air. If it came down to the weather, though (and for me it often does), I'd be hard-pressed to find a better place than sunny Los Angeles.

Now, if we could just work on the traffic over here...
